When Tiffaney Clark launched Boss Ivy Beauty, she wasn’t just selling beauty products, she was building confidence, resilience, and a brand rooted in self-worth.

Founded in 2019 and based in Pinole, Boss Ivy Beauty is an online retail brand offering ethically sourced fragrance, haircare, and skincare designed to promote healing, empowerment, and unapologetic self-love. For Tiffaney, beauty isn’t surface-level—it’s transformational. Her collections inspire survivors and entrepreneurs alike to look good, feel powerful, and remember their strength. But turning purpose into profitability requires capital and strategy.

As the business expanded, Tiffaney faced a defining challenge: preparing detailed financial statements and 12-month projections for a loan application. Like many first-time founders, the lending process felt complex and overwhelming. She needed clarity, structure, and confidence.

That turning point came when she connected with the AnewAmerica Women’s Business Center in Oakland, part of the statewide California Women’s Business Centers Network (CA WBC).

The CA WBC Network is California’s only coordinated, statewide economic development infrastructure designed specifically for women entrepreneurs, serving more than 17,000 clients annually, more than half of whom are women of color, through 21 Women’s Business Centers. In the most recent reporting period, CA WBC clients accessed $53.2 million in business capital—65% of which was accessed by women of color. Through partners like AnewAmerica, the network delivers no-cost, high-impact advising that strengthens financial management, increases access to capital, and fuels sustainable growth.

Through one-on-one counseling, Tiffaney refined her financial projections, strengthened her business plan, and prepared a lender-ready loan package. The support didn’t just help her apply for capital, it gave her long-term financial confidence and strategic clarity.

“The support and detailed explanations of how to prepare for lending was so important to me,” Tiffaney shared. “AnewAmerica gave me the confidence and support!”

Today, Boss Ivy Beauty is expanding beyond the East Bay onto a national stage. Through her podcast #BossIvyTalks, YouTube and TikTok content, and fragrance reviews from creators like ArahiWorld, Ariell Ash, and TheSmellGoodNP, Tiffaney is building national visibility and credibility.

This August, she will represent California entrepreneurship at FRAGCON in Houston, Texas, connecting with buyers, media, and fragrance industry leaders.

From self-love to scalable enterprise, Boss Ivy Beauty reflects what the CA WBC Network sees every day: women of color transforming purpose into economic power, strengthening communities while driving California’s economy forward.
