Jazz Kelley decided she wanted to be her own boss.  She also wanted to leverage her own creative stylish gift to help other women leverage fashion to build their own style, confidence and self-care. So, she opened an online women’s apparel store to bring a chic style to professional women. But she felt she needed more information to help take her business to the next level.

Ms. Kelley came to AnewAmerica Women’s Business Center of Oakland to get more knowledge in terms of running her business. She also attended their Business Foundation Training and took advantage of one-on-one consultations with an industry expert.

Ms. Kelley said the training and consultation “helped me look to approaching my goals in a more action-oriented manner.”  In addition, she received $5,000 through the CA Dream Fund and shared “The Dream Fund has helped me with vendor fees, marketing fees and purchasing inventory for my business. I have seen success with sales and gaining brand visibility.”

Ms. Kelley reported feeling that the Business Foundation Training and access to capital were helpful in her success to “provide WORK – PLAY – TRAVEL SLAY fashion styles for the Addressed Apparel woman.”
